Our Founders: Masters of the Brew
Nathan Carter – Head of Brewing & Innovation
Nathan brings a decade of brewing expertise to New Lion Brewery. His background in traditional ale-making is perfectly balanced with a fearless creativity — often resulting in inventive brews that surprise and delight. From seasonal small-batch specials to experimental single-hop IPAs, Nathan leads our development with curiosity, precision, and a love for pushing boundaries in flavour.
Rob Hopkins – Brewmaster & Quality Guardian
Rob ensures that every batch lives up to our high standards. With years in quality control and brewing science, he meticulously oversees each stage of the brewing process. From yeast health to the final gravity readings, Rob’s attention to detail guarantees consistency, cleanliness, and the rich, bold profiles our customers expect from New Lion.
Gareth Dot – Co Founder & Operations Lead
Gareth is the heartbeat of our brewery’s daily operations. With a background in supply chain management and pub partnerships, he makes sure the casks and kegs flow smoothly from brew to bar. Gareth also spearheads our taproom experience, working with local venues and customers to build lasting connections with the community.
